This guide walks you through the complete process of creating a real-time alert sent to a Slack™ channel. We will monitor a specific column in your Google Sheet™ and send a formatted message via Webhook.
link Step 1: Choose Channel
After clicking “Create Alert” in the dashboard, select the Slack card.

link Step 2: Source Data
Notify needs to know exactly where to look. You will see two dropdowns:
Select the specific tab in your workbook.
Select the column header to monitor.
link Step 3: Define Trigger
Notify will analyze your data. For this example, we want to alert the Sales team when a deal closes.
link Step 4: Craft Message
Design the alert using Variables. Note that Slack uses single asterisks for bold text (*bold*).

link Step 5: Connect & Deploy
Slack uses Incoming Webhooks to receive messages.
- Go to api.slack.com/apps and create a new App.
- Enable Incoming Webhooks in the sidebar.
- Click “Add New Webhook to Workspace” and copy the URL.
- Paste the URL into the Destination Target field in Notify.
